At ALIVE! Nationwide, we provide rapid legal support to individuals experiencing domestic abuse, ensuring they receive the necessary protection swiftly and effectively. Our services are tailored to meet different needs and are split into three main categories:
For individuals eligible for Public Funding, we collaborate with a panel of certified solicitors who are authorised to grant Legal Aid. We have established agreements with these solicitors to ensure that cases are addressed within 24 hours.
From the moment of referral, we work alongside your solicitor to ensure comprehensive legal representation.
For individuals not eligible for Public Funding, we partner with post-graduate law students (trainee lawyers) to prepare necessary paperwork and offer court representation.
A small fee is applied for training the students, which usually involves a weekend course at their University. This gives law students invaluable, real-life legal experience
We offer electronic process serving to swiftly notify the abuser as prescribed by the Crime and Victims Act of 2004.
This is as simple as sending a secure electronic message of the court order to the Respondent, ensuring the process is handled quickly and efficiently.
SERVICES COSTS
We maintain a transparent pricing model to ensure accessible legal support:
Legal Aid Support
Where an individual is referred to a panel of Solicitors there is no cost to that individual as their legal representation will be covered through legal aid. There is no cost to the individual for Alive! Nationwide’s involvement other than that of a telephone and / or email.
Non Public Funded Assistance
Where the Law Student Pro-bono service is used, a fixed fee of £200 is charged directly to the victim (if they were to use a local firm of Solicitors, they would be looking to pay approximately £2000). There are no costs to ALIVE! as the students are keen to experience real-life client and Court representation.
Swift Process Serving
ALIVE! deals directly with the process serving, ensuring that the abuser is notified swiftly and effectively following the court application. A fixed fee of £100 is charged to the solicitor (where public funded) or to the individuals (if not eligible for public funding). The only cost to ALIVE! is sending an email, WhatsApp message, or Facebook message to the abuser.
